Quick Reviews #21
Gotta Make This Quick As Possible
Sister’s wedding this weekend, practically no time for anything else.
Mad Cave
Whatever Happened To Crimson Justice #4: Captures the feeling of a nostalgic comeback without missing a single beat. 8.5/10
Orla #2: Personally this is one of the most relatable things I’ve seen. So I’m extremely biased. Getting nervous over how things could go wrong, the feeling of being watched, judged, and aggravated feelings that you repress that could go horribly wrong. All inter-spliced with feelings of anticipation and relief. 9/10
Dick Tracy #15: Intriguing…that’s what this case feels like. More like a game of bait. Just not enough character variety, more like reruns. 8/10
Buried Long, Long Ago #5: An exciting way to end. Every risk and chance comes ahead full circle. The character dynamics, foreshadowing, and the shift into a demented fairy tale become very engaging. 9/10
Infini-T Force Vol. 4: Some decent action and momentum mixed with character development. But the pace slows down by the middle. 7/10
Abuzz: This is okay. Great use of visual storytelling with how characters are presented. Like a blank wall to separate one character after an outburst last page. But it feels like one dynamic in the ensemble takes away from everything else. Making it feel like a typical school drama. Even with a little coming out attached to it. 7/10
Naraka Warrior Vol. 1: A chilling look at reflection after death. All of the action of a Hong Kong set piece in juxtaposition of characters pushed to their limits. Not just the cast but the building background of mythic proportions. 9/10
Dynamite
Space Ghost Vol. 2 #3: How do you make a typical episode a little more exciting? By putting a little more character development on the side. 8.5/10
