Well I was too busy to do this on Wednesday. Groceries, Comic book stores, Stephen King’s worst fear, and finding ways to cook squid.
So with November over with I’ve gotta worry about some jargon like presents for the Holidays. Do you have relatives who aren’t materialistic? I do, they’d prefer to have experiences over anything else. Heck I half pay for most of my presents with them. Strangely my family has an easy time getting me stuff that’s worth it in the long run. A stand desk, a full body vibration machine, (awkward transition)
Marketing Is The Pits
So anyway I joined Awin’s Affiliate Program to advertise stuff on Gutternaut. I wanted to spotlight indie comics on Etsy like Attaboy and recent post Witchman. But that didn’t work out and instead I’m advertising programming for a chance parents or amateur game developers get Roblox. But since that craze ended a long time ago, I might have better luck if people buy stuff from a German doormat company.
I’m even vainly hoping my affiliate with Fanatical can get my other CJ Affiliate going again. But it seems that my audience are not impulse buyers or hoarders. Of which I lean towards the latter. They’re good saving on expensive game software!
(You don’t even have a gaming PC! And the most affordable one for a greater experience is a handheld mobile console that you hover on Indiegogo for. You don’t even back it; you just window shop because as much as you want it, you’d rather use the money to pay for a comic book that’s supposed to come out in 2024.)
By that I mean I paid about $4000 total to make a comic book on Comics Experience Creative Services to have it look as professional as possible. And I signed all of the paperwork for a finalized deal. I gotta have something for my portfolio. Because I think the reason it didn’t get pulled through in other places is because the lettering font and my attempts to give one of my characters a distinct voice looked a bit ugly. I just hope the letterer this service hired tries to give that character a raspy looking font.
Speaking of services, I’m finally making actual use out of my Travel Payouts affiliate. But I think the only activity is coming from clicks not reserving hotels. I just hope I can get enough content for other services like cars, bike rentals, and the like.

Why Are These Popular On My Socials?
So I’ve been paying attention to my posts on social media. More importantly Instagram and Pinterest. Sure, sure I’m still on Twitter but I’m finding it might be a tad overrated. Way before Musk bought the darn thing, even. Mostly because I among a few others got roped together with some Twits who mouthed off and I got chain blocked. But I wonder how many people I followed might’ve really have been bots since that number dropped.
In any case I noticed my most popular posts had something in common. On Twitter and Instagram: I got more attention than before on the image of Saitama and Toaster Dude. I guess the Take got it right, memes do get more attention than what they’re advertising.
I’m serious, one of my images on Pinterest gets more attention than even the Toaster Dude one is a cover of a Top Cow Comic called Madame Mirage. This is it:
On one hand I’m grateful that I’m getting more attention, and a few more visitors. Hey, this means Paul Dini’s character is getting more attention for people to check out a great mini-series out on Global Comix. Although it implies something that I don’t want to associate with.
Plus like a few people I joined HIVE. Mainly because it’s one of the few social media apps where I can follow one of mainstream comics main maestros, Al Ewing. Well so does his newsletter and his Instagram, but I only found that through HIVE.
What To Expect In December
Now that all the major stuff’s down, let’s talk future posts. On the top of my list is the finale of Orc Island on my review post. Then there’s my review for Star Runner Chronicles: Rising Star, following up a sci-fi franchise I’ve come to love. Speaking of continuations I’ll be doing more of Escape From Wyoming. Just for kicks, I have a plan for how a short CGI film adapts Tokyo Ghost. Even more adaptation plans include Cybersix, Stargirl Season 1, the RWBY Intros, the original Barbarella film (maybe against the Dynamite Comic adaptation), Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks, Superman Animated Episode Mxyzpixilated against its Golden Age comic inspiration, and Hilda. My plans to cover AWA (Upshot)’s Knighted are still around, as is Necessary Evils. I might even include an obscure Steve Gerber Image comic called Cybernary.
Until then stay up to date, mind the ads, and thanks for coming to the end.
