Just In Time For This Week's Releases

Another request, another week of releases.

• Kosher Mafia #3: More compelling character developments with intense shootouts to match the growing tensions with the gangs. 8.5/10

• Defenders of the Earth #3: Continues a solid theme of generational drifts and chasms. Parents wanting to connect with their children but are held back by their own pasts and values. Meanwhile, the first steps to reconnecting are being taken. 8.5/10

• Gatchaman-Jun: Apex Heart: Good characterization of titular Science Ninja and the minor characters. Their mutual ties to the central MacGuffin expand their characters and legacy. Who himself is given a lot of characterization despite his small role. Someone who is loved and continues to move people and himself. They either build off what they could learn from him like Jun demonstrates in an action-packed chase scene or become shells of their former selves until they reclaim a sense of dignity in their last moments. A lot of what’s said speaks volumes of the weight of events without being said out loud. 9/10
