Looks like the flood gates are totally open now. Don’t look at me, GlobalComix is way more efficient at getting your releases than going to a comic store. More cost friendly too. Besides with a snowstorm that hit my side of the South, it’s the best time to do it.
Flash Gordon Vol. 1: With the addition of a prologue in this album, this feels more “complete”. A real sense of a classic adventure and how it all changed without losing its characterizations. 8.5/10
Revolution 9 #3: Messy with dialogue placements but keeps the intensity on a cult’s effects ever high. 8.5/10
Prairie Gods #4: Big surprises and subtle past events collide in engrossing payoffs. The kind that make you reexamine everything up to now. 9.5/10
Soul Taker: Slow pacing, overcomplicated plots, lack of a real ending, and wasted characterizations. 4/10
Spectrum #2: Feel the power of music and the rituals that build connections here. 8.5/10
Gatchaman #6: Now here’s something that was missing from the last album. A simple adventure where you can feel getting immersed in a fantasy. As well as layers of character colliding. 8/10
Synap #2: Finally picking things up. Everything from the plot, characterizations, and the arcs where those points collide. It’s actually a bit interesting. 8/10
Wait how? By asking these questions: What do you do when you have big shoes to fill for something existential? And what are you gonna do after you peak and outgrow that part of yourself? Better yet, before and after this, is devoting your life to this kind of existence even worth it? Or are you just gonna make up as many excuses as possible regardless of the damage it causes?
Hour of the Wolf #3: More character this time around, not to mention the mechanics are fantastic, but the plot’s pacing can’t really keep up. 7/10
The Hexiles #3: Plot moves along with chaotic subversions and an enthralling presentation. Pacing could’ve used a push though. 7.5/10
Gatchaman Only One Earth #1: Feels like a true encapsulation of the Science Ninja Team, Galactor, and their themes. Each in spectacular sets, actions, and character. 9/10
Crush Depth #1: A lively cast evoking classic naval fiction. Being a late trekkie, I found that to be one of the best parts. Plus the exploration into something gruesome/Lovecraftian to contrast everything is a nice touch. 9/10
