How many times have I gone through these irksome motions? The lovesick buffoons who found themselves wanting bigger idiots. At least with Yuno I could feel my love’s essence despite the risks. Even here as I sit between two personalities I can’t help but vent my frustrations. Nyu, Lucy, Kaede, some many ways to express herself yet revolves around two things: wanton murder and loving a simpleton.
I can understand wanting to love mediocre men. They’re children-at-heart who are mature enough to not be purposely controlling. The kind of people who complement anyone who imbalances them. It feels fulfilling in ways that always feel out of reach or too great a cost on their own. Sometimes I wonder if my beloved loved that idiotic tanuki more than he ever did me for that reason.
But this empty-headed buffoon’s only trait is being a glass decoration with everything else being the foil.
Stupid, needless, cruelty just about everywhere. It’s like looking at a teenager’s grunge fantasies.
Well almost everything is like that. I’m growing more sympathies for that mediocre’s cousin despite her flaws.
But the more I try to reach out to her by Kaede; I’m always pushed back. What’s more, I try to tell either these dissociated identities to push outwards. Only for them to be reminded of deep-seated trauma.
…
Honestly, that allowed me to reflect on my childhood. The runt of the litter who had to work twice as hard sometimes at the risk of burning out. The vix never saw me with any value despite that though, let alone her kits. My father meanwhile found what he needed in their neglectful relationship through me. I’ll never forgive that vix for trading him away for land.
…
I can at least sympathize with Lucy, even empathize with her over wanting something we couldn’t have. The violence she inflicts certainly has weight that I feel upon my soul every time it incites. But even that feels juvenile, or maybe that’s all of the oversaturated tragedies surrounding her that sours my perception. Meanwhile Nyu’s little more than the puppy Lucy lost all those years ago.
I suppose this Osaki form has its uses, unlike before where only my pure soul’s essence drove them away. Lucy at least doesn’t attack animals that aren’t hostile to her. Nyu meanwhile could be a little less affectionate. I feel infantilized like this, but I don’t have enough strength to maintain a better form. Any great effort will just exhaust me till I burn out. I have to be better.
It’s also why I have to help out Kaede. If I can help her, maybe I can help myself. Fortunately, I have wiggle room here due to Kaede’s mind.
Panel 1: Nyu is held back by a scientist as people are about to walk out.
Panel 2: In her panic, the blacks in Nyu’s eyes turn gold.
Panel 3: The scientist is aghast as he hears:
Get your filthy hands off of my vessel!
Panel 4: The scientist loses his grasp.
Panel 5: Nyu flips him over with a Judo throw.
Panel 1: N-Nyu? Asks the young man.
Panel 2: Nyu(?) turns to the young man saying: “Not right now.” in his mind
Panel 3: The young man’s female cousin reacts to what’s happening in Japanese.
Panel 4: Behind Nyu’s head, an image of the small Osaki fox is holding back Nyu with her bushy tail. At the same time the fox echoes the words: “Lucy, come out!”
Panel 5: Nyu in a gasp panics.
Panel 6: She is caught by the young man.
Panel 1: Nyu looks at the young man but with blanker eyes where the pupils lack reflections. Lucy has surfaced speaking: Kota!
Panel 2: The Osaki image tries to reach out to Kota’s cousin through an invisible arm coming out of Lucy’s back.
Panel 3: Lucy notices this and retracts the arm.
Panel 4: Images flash of the deaths of Kota’s family, scaring Lucy.
“I’m sorry Lucy, I wasn’t trying to hurt her. But you need to tell Kota the truth quickly. I can’t hold Nyu back from her trying to protect you from the trauma. These two deserve to know the truth and I suspect this young lady already knows. More like that scientist will appear.”
Panel 1: Lucy cries at mental images of Kota being threatened.
Panel 2: Kota tries to wipe away her tears.
Panel 3: But he’s held back by Lucy’s telekinetic arms.
Panel 4: The Osaki meanwhile makes contact with Kota’s cousin, Yuka.
Panel 5: Yuka is stunned to see a ghastly white weasel-sized fox looking at her so seriously.
Osaki: Get him out of here quickly and don’t look back! Because-
Panel 6: Osaki and Lucy confess that Lucy killed Kota’s family.
Panel 1: Yuka and Kota are running in horror with everything around them blank.
Panel 2: They collide with things they can’t see because images of Kota’s trauma manifest.
Panel 3: Meanwhile Yuka is feeling the weight of the Osaki talking in her ear.
Osaki: Don’t be so harsh with your frustrations and be a little more sensitive. I speak from experience.
Panel 4: They are experiencing all of Lucy’s trauma that led them to where they all are with tears in their eyes.
Panel 1: Lucy is speaking into a walky-talky with Osaki in the background.
Panel 2: Lucy turns to her, looking curious on what she even is.
Panel 3: Osaki appears on Lucy’s shoulder.
Osaki: Just call me a conscience.
Panel 4: Suddenly, Osaki jerks Lucy into action.
Osaki: We have company.
Panel 5: A man in tactical gear is aiming a sniper rifle at Lucy.
Panel 1: The Osaki looks ready to pounce off of Lucy’s shoulder.
Osaki: He’s not alone! I’ll handle the coming assailant, your priority is on the sniper.
Panel 2: Lucy turns towards the crosshair sight of the sniper.
Panel 3: A gunshot is fired from the rifle!
Panel 4: Six pairs of telekinetic hands catch the bullet as it explodes.
Panel 5: A girl with shorter pink hair than Lucy but worn in the same ribbons dashes towards her with telekinetic arms of her own.
Panel 1: The girl revealed to have pink eyes is stopped by a sharp pain in her neck.
Panel 2: The girl cannot see Osaki’s teeth pressed against her neck as the Osaki speaks telepathically.
Osaki: Do as I say or you will lose your neck!
Panel 3: The girl looks at Lucy who is about to lunge at the faraway sniper, thinking she’s responsible for this pain.
Panel 4: The sniper has moved away from his old position, abandoning his rifle for a submachine gun.
Panel 5: With an echoed thud, Lucy lands behind him as if she casually skipped her way over.
Panel 1: The gunman (Bando) opens fire on Lucy! Only for all of the bullets to be deflected by an invisible telekinetic force surrounding Lucy.
Panel 1: A blood-soaked gun is thrown a distance away from them in pieces!
Panel 2: The gunman has lost his right arm!
Panel 3: He then feels his eyelids grasped by Lucy’s telekinetic hands.
Panel 4: As he cries out off-panel, his flailing hand touches Lucy’s.
Panel 5: Nyu’s eyes are above Lucy’s head as Lucy gasps.
Panel 1: The Osaki’s eyes then replace Nyu’s.
Osaki: Stay focused! I can hold Nyu back. Finish this grunt off!
Panel 2: Lucy roars outward as the gunman’s body is thrown back, with a darkened image of the top being blown off.
Panel 3: The pink-eyed girl from before is above Lucy ready to strike!
Osaki: Quickly! Holding Nyu back forced me to let go of her! Blow her back but don’t kill her!
Panel 4: Lucy screeches again in frustration! This causes Lucy’s ribbons to rip apart revealing horns that grew slightly longer. Complimenting these are 10 telekinetic arms to reach out from behind her while also forcing the Osaki’s eyes to lose visibility/influence.
Panel 5: Some of the girl’s own TK arms are stopped by Lucy’s only for the girl herself to be struck by the rest of Lucy’s.
Panel 1: Lucy approaches the girl readying her arms to tear off the girl’s real limbs.
Panel 2: As Lucy looks down at her with indifference, the Osaki’s eyes appear in front of Lucy (the girl can’t see them).
Osaki: Excuse me.
Panel 3: Lucy’s body jerks and falls over, revealing Nyu coming out.
Panel 4: Causing her lips to touch with the girl on the ground.
Panel 5: This causes the girl to tremble as her eyes lose emotions.
Panel 1: Inside their mind, Lucy is looking with shock at what’s happening.
Osaki: You are a queen diclonius, Lucy. You don’t just have the standard psychic powers.
Panel 2: The Osaki is once again on her shoulder.
Osaki: I looked through your entire anatomy and found abilities even you did not know. But it seems they’re split between you and Nyu. You possess heightened combat abilities including reflexes and higher frequency vibrations with your Vectors. Meanwhile Nyu has the power to enthrall non-queen dicloniae the way some ants enslave others.
Panel 3: Lucy grasps the Osaki by her muzzle in frustration. The Osaki doesn’t look too bothered though.
Lucy: What are you?!
Osaki: I am tied to your very soul.
Panel 4: Lucy begins to fidget as images of different people surround her.
Osaki: You as well as several others really. Strangely you and another pink-haired girl had similar problems. Layers and nuances to your broken psyches, held back by a trashy world.
Panel 5: Lucy puts the Osaki down angrily! With the Osaki looking up at her unafraid.
Lucy: What do you want?!
Osaki: My soul is fragmented and trapped between ideas I connect with. But the more I saw myself, the more I grew tired of watching your pathetic lives play out on repeat. So one reality allowed me to interact with these estranged parts of me as an idea in the back of your minds.
Panel 1: The Osaki is zoomed in from a low angle making herself look bigger than Lucy.
Osaki: You may call me Osakisannii. Osakisanichi, helped the other pink-haired girl give the rest of her world character. This world may be cynical, but at least it doesn’t have to be pessimistic.
Panel 2: Lucy sees events of her life play out as if they’re being drawn with ink and paper.
Osaki: You had so much potential, but the weight of all of your neuroses along with this world’s contrivances held you back.
Panel 3: Lucy sees a projecting shadow of herself with her back to a firing squad.
Osaki: In another time, you projected your idealogical needs fulfilled with a sacrifice.
Panel 4: The girl outside to a still surprised Nyu stops spazzing.
Osaki: Now Kaede, you have a choice to make. You may either wallow in disdain or embrace a new perspective.
Panel 5-6: The girl introduces herself as Nana with Nyu hugging her in compassion.
Osaki: Less a way of being abstained, or shaming what’s happened, and instead a new normal.
Panel 1: Nana looks at Nyu, noticing something different.
Panel 2: Lucy has surfaced appearing to tower over Nana!
Panel 1: From within the space, Osaki speaks with Nyu.
Osaki: I need you to listen to me Nyu, you and Kaede are going to do great things.
Panel 2: In front of the two are images of Lucy and Nana confronting their antagonists. Nana acts as an in-shock bodyguard while Lucy merely disarms opponent’s weapons or make them vomit with her vibrating vectors. That is until confronting other dicloniae.
Panel 3: Nyu then reveals herself as her horns grow longer. From Nyu’s horns is a signal that affects the dicloniae the way Nyu did Nana.
Osaki: You may feel disenfranchised now, but you can turn that sense of isolation into something stronger.
Panel 4: Nana is holding the hand of a girl with a dog.
Osaki: All you have to do is gather others like you; the ones who fell into society’s cracks and saturate yourself in daily life.
Panel 5: Lucy is standing over scientists who are either scared or outraged.
Osaki: Lucy will handle all of the elements that physically hold you back.
Panel 1: Nyu is surrounded by humans and dicloniae in a karaoke room as if it were a musical. The song playing being “Elfen Lied”.
Osaki: But you will achieve Kaede’s wish.
Panel 2: At a dinner table, there’s a cake on fire with some people shocked while others find it amusing.
Osaki: A world where our true and ideal selves can coexist.
Panel 3: Kaede is sitting on a throne smiling.
Osaki: Better to embrace the madness than despair and lash from it.
Panel 4: In front of Kaede is Kota, looking half dead inside. Behind Kota is a news report about a dicloniae research lab.
Osaki: Of course, you will have to confront how serious a situation can get.
I know I have to. Like you Kaede, I lost my true name to this situation and now I must recover it and the rest of my identity. I just hope the insanity doesn’t consume me.
